"The Dream Catcher Farm Horse Sanctuary is an organization based on the premise that all creatures should live free of cruelty.

This non-profit charity is established for the purpose of relieving the suffering of horses and ponies from abuse, neglect and slaughter. We wish to provide them with a caring home for the rest of their days.

Money is always a pressing need for horse feed, shelter and welfare, especially during the winter when visitors are few and fundraising is difficult.  We depend upon the help of volunteers and supporters to keep the sanctuary alive.  Your support can help the sanctuary continue to help rescued and elderly equine.

We are a non-profit organization under IRS 501(c)3 regulations."

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

"Best Friends, the nation's largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals, is home to never fewer than 1,800 homeless dogs, cats, and other animals from all over the country.

Many of the new arrivals need just a few weeks of special care before they're ready to go to good new homes. Others, who are older or sicker, or who have suffered extra trauma, find a home and a haven at the sanctuary. They make new friends among their own kind and are given loving care for the rest of their lives.

The mission of Best Friends is to help bring about a time when there are no more homeless animals, and when every companion animal who's ever born can be guaranteed a loving home.

In furthering this mission, and as the flagship of the "no-kill" movement among animal sanctuaries, the work of Best Friends reaches far and wide, helping people set up spay/neuter, shelter, foster, and adoption programs in their own neighborhoods.

Best Friends is supported entirely through the donations of our members. Through the generous hearts and hands of people like you, we can ensure that animals who come into the care of Best Friends will never again have to be alone, hungry, sick, afraid, or in pain." New England Basset Hound Rescue, Inc.
"Basset Experienced...Basset Loved...Basset Owned"

NEBHR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Everyone involved with NEBHR is on a volunteer basis only and members reside throughout New England. We receive no financial compensation for our efforts. Like you, we all have jobs outside the home, have families, and other important commitments. We do basset rescue because we want to help save homeless hounds and place them in good homes.

New England Basset Hound Rescue, Inc. is always in need of foster homes throughout New England. We do not have a shelter that houses our rescue dogs, they live in our homes and are treated like a"member of our family".

This gives us a great opportunity to evaluate the dog in a "home setting." The hounds that we can't take into our foster program stay in their old homes or a shelter until we refer people that want to adopt in their direction. Thank you. ©

Miracle Horse Rescue Operates Solely on Tax Deductible Contributions

Who We Are

Miracle Horse Rescue is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. We are dedicated to the preservation and welfare of abused, neglected and unwanted equines of all types and conditions.

What We Do

We provide a safe environment for equines that have endured starvation, neglect and physical abuse. Each horse receives medical attention and daily positive human contact. We strive to rehabiltate each horse in the hopes that we can locate responsible, caring and loving homes. For those horses unable to be adopted they will live out the remainder of their lives at the Miracle Horse Facility. Our goal is to give each horse the opportunity at a second chance at life, never having to endure starvation, neglect or abuse ever again.

Why We Are Doing This

The main reason Miracle Horse Rescue is in operation is for the love of the horse. Most animal shelters do not have the facilities to house such a large animal, therefore the reason for Miracle Horse Rescue. There is around the clock care at the Miracle Facility with a qualified equine veterinarian available 24 hours a day. We are striving to eliminate the abuse and neglect by promoting responsible horse ownership through education and community awareness.

Did you know...Dogs can get extreme Separation Anxiety?

The January/February 2003 edition of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary magazine provides the following tips that will help you and your furry friend overcome this problem.

  • Don't make a big scene (lots of extra affection) when you leave home or return.
  • Never punish dogs for misbehavior that occurred in your absence. After the fact, they have no idea why you're angry.
  • Always reward them for good behavior.
  • Exercise your dog every day to burn off some of your dog's excess energy.
  • Use gentle obedience training consistently.
  • If you have a consistent lifestyle and routine, and the dog knows that you are in charge of the household, the stress is taken off your dog. He or she doesn't feel the need to figure out the routine.
  • Crates are often helpful, but need to be slowly introduced for short periods of time, since they can be scary. Start by keeping the door open, feeding the dog in the crate, and putting in favorite toys. Adult dogs can be left crated for four hours, but puppies should never be left more than two hours. Dogs with severe seperation anxiety can't be left in a crate - they will hurt themselves trying to get out.
